New England Swimming Holes publishes field guides for waterfalls, swimming holes, rivers, and related outdoor places across New England. We collect a small amount of information so we can run the site, respond to visitors, manage contributor signups, and evaluate interest in new guides, contests, and photo requests.
What We Collect
If you use the contributor signup popup or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, the page you were viewing, referral source, campaign tags, browser or device information, and the time of your submission.
When you browse the site, we may also receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, pages viewed, and similar visit data through hosting, analytics, or security tools.
How We Use It
We use this information to reply to messages, send contributor or contest updates, review marketing performance, improve site content and navigation, understand which landing pages are working, and manage photo requests or community outreach.
How It Is Stored
Information submitted through the site may be stored by service providers that help us operate the website, including hosting, database, deployment, analytics, and form-processing tools. We use reasonable steps to limit access to that information to what is needed to operate the project.
Cookies And Local Storage
The site may use cookies, analytics tools, and local storage to remember basic site behavior, including whether the contributor signup popup has already been shown. That local storage may be used to limit how often the popup appears and to avoid repeatedly showing it to people who have already signed up.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us run the website or when required by law, to protect rights, or to address fraud, abuse, or security issues.
Your Choices
You can contact us to ask about your information, request corrections, unsubscribe from contributor emails, or ask us to delete a signup record when we reasonably can.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the contributor signup flow.
Changes
We may update this policy as the project changes. The effective date at the top of this page shows the current version.
